BUILDING ACADEMIC BRIDGES BETWEEN LUTSK AND CAMBRIDGE: INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION OF LESYA UKRAINKA VOLYN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY AND ANGLIA RUSKIN UNIVERSITY, UK
Within the framework of the Cambridge Science Festival held this week in the UK, Larysa Zasiekina, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (LUVNU), and Mark Norrish, Pro Vice Chancellor for International Affairs and Partnerships at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), discussed the prospects of international collaboration between our two Universities.
The English University’s management expressed their sincere solidarity and strong support to all Ukrainians and the teaching staff of LUVNU and other Universities in Ukraine. Larysa Zasiekina and Mark Norish admitted that both Universities had the highest ratings in terms of their development in recent years in their respective countries, so they have much in common to establish effective cooperation.
The parties expressed, in particular, their readiness to sign an agreement between the Universities, which envisages joint research projects, students’ and teachers’ academic mobility during one semester at ARU within the LUVNU’s various educational programmes. The first project on negative impact of military trauma and the implementation of rehabilitation programmes for various categories of the population is to be implemented by the Ukrainian Centre for Psychotrauma at LUVNU and the Institute of Veterans and Their Families at ARU. Two directors of the Centres – Matt Fossey and Larysa Zasiekina will be assigned as the project leaders.
