PHD STUDIES IN LESYA UKRAINKA VOLYN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program is designed to prepare students for a career as an academic or a researcher in the public or private sector.
The PhD Program Objectives are:
Explore advanced theoretical knowledge to develop research skills through original research;
Integrate advanced knowledge into managerial and organizational contexts and roles;
Prepare for teaching responsibilities in higher education (for those who expect to enter the teaching profession)
Duration
The PhD program generally takes 4 years to complete (2 years of classwork and the rest of the two years is of research work).
Who can apply?
All international students with a master’s degree obtained in Ukraine or abroad may apply for admission to the PhD program.
Application Deadline
During the year. University accepts foreign students anytime, who wish to join PhD level studies. Embassies of Ukraine accept visa applications from PhD candidates anytime around the year and grant the visas easily.
Documents required in applying for entrance:
1. A completed application form.
2. Original and copy of a national passport, or in the case of a person who is stateless or otherwise lacking a passport, some other document which can provide certification for a stateless person with a type D visa or persons with entry visas issued by consular institutions of Ukraine abroad on the basis of invitations to study, unless otherwise provided for by international treaties of Ukraine.
3. Original and copy of a Master’s or Specialist’s diploma. A Master’s or Specialist’s diploma not issued in Ukraine must be certified and legalized (apostilled). A notarized translation must be provided along with it.
4. The original as well as a copy of the Master’s or Specialist’s diploma supplement document, containing a transcript of grades obtained by the student during the course of the master’s or specialist’s program. If this diploma supplement was issued by an institution outside of Ukraine, it must be certified and legalized (apostilled), and must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Ukrainian.
5. Record of an interview with the research supervisor.
6. CV.
7. List and photocopies of printed scientific works and/or inventions (if any).
8. Recommendation for admission to the postgraduate program (if available).
9. Photo (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, matte finish).
