A LIST OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR FOREIGNERS
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)is the academic degree which may be obtained subsequent to the Master’s degree. The Doctor of Philosophy degree is granted to a postgraduate student by a specialized research (scientific) council following the public defence of his/her thesis.

The tuition fee for foreigners studying under a contract during the 2020-21 academic year is $2000 U.S.The normal term of the studies is four years.
POSTGRADUATE ENTRANCE REGULATIONS
Time periods available for submitting documents and attending an interview for entrance to a Ph.D. degree program:
1st period: March 1–15.
2nd period: August 15–30.
3rd period: November 1–15.
Documents required in applying for entrance
1. A completed application form.
2. Original and copy of a national passport, or in the case of person who is stateless or otherwise lacking a passport, some other document which can provide certification for a stateless person with a type D visa (04/12) for persons with entry visas issued by consular institutions of Ukraine abroad on the basis of invitations to study, unless otherwise provided for by international treaties of Ukraine. If available, originals and copies of the following documents should be submitted:
● a certificate of permanent or temporary residence in Ukraine;
● a diplomatic card of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
3. Original and copy of a Master’s or Specialist’s diploma. A Master’s or Specialist’s diploma not issued in Ukraine must be certified and legalized
(apostilled). A notarized translation must be provided along with it.
4. The original as well as a copy of the master’s or specialist’s diploma supplement document, containing a transcript of grades obtained by the
studentduring the course of the master’s or specialist’s program. If this diploma supplement was issued by an institution outside of Ukraine, it must be certified and legalized (apostilled), and must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Ukrainian.

7. List and photocopies of printed scientific works and/or inventions (if any).
8. Recommendation for admission to the postgraduate program (if available).
9. Photo(3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, matte finish): 3 copies.
Stipulations for entry and for stays on the territory of Ukraine
Foreigners wishing to study in Ukraine must obtain a long-term type D visa (with an indication that the purpose of the stay is for studies) in accordance with established procedures, unless otherwise established by the legislation of Ukraine. Foreigners who have come to Ukraine for study purposes are required to obtain a temporary residence permit in Ukraine, and must be in compliance with the deadlines set by law for the processing of such documents.
Registration of a Temporary Residence Permit in Ukraine
In order to obtain a Temporary Residence Permit in Ukraine, a foreign citizen must submit the documents listed below to the following address within
three days of their arrival in Ukraine: Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Main Building, Room 116, 13 Voli Avenue, Lutsk
1. A completed application form.
2. Passport containing a Type D entry visa (unless otherwise provided for by the legislation and international agreements of Ukraine), and copies of the passport pages which contain personal data and visas.
3. Translation into Ukrainian of the page of the passport containing personal data, certified by a notary.
4. A receipt for payment of the state fees.
5. 4 photos (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, matte finish).
6. Medical insurance policy.
Health care
Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University is not responsible for the medical care of postgraduates. Their medical care is provided for by the health
insurance policy which they are obliged to have while studying at the university.

The Doctor of Sciences is an academic (‘scientific’) degree which can be obtained subsequent to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. This degree program
facilitates the acquisition of the highest-level competencies in development and implementation of research work methodology, including the conducting of original researches leading to scientific results which provide solutions for important theoretical and/or applied problems of national or worldwide
importance, and which have been published in research publications.
