Science Days-2022 in Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, May 16-20
Science Days took place in Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University from 16-20 May. The event is traditional, and held at the university every third week in May annually. The event’s main objective is to promote scientific research, support the intellectual and creative development of youth, and strengthen the prestige and authority of science in Ukrainian society.
The slogan of Science Days this year was “Firmness during War”.
Science Days started with the event Scientific Communities of the University Facing Modern Challenges. From 10 am till 6 pm many presentations on the scientific and research, and studying and research laboratories, scientific and research institutes and centres were given. They told about the peculiarities and directions of their activity nowadays.
The students and young scientists continue to work firmly believing in our power, unity, and victory. On May 17, 2022, XVІ International scientific and practical conference of students, aspirants, and young scientists “Young Science of Volyn: Priorities and Perspectives of the Research” took place. The conference united more than 800 participants and 400 theses authors from 49 Higher Educations Institutions.
The Council of Young Researchers conducted a roundtable discussion on “Transformation of the Scientific Priorities in the Research of Young Researchers during the War”. The event welcomed about 20 young researchers from various walks of knowledge. The participants exchanged their experiences of the scientific and volunteering activities. Besides, they talked about urgent problems and challenges Ukrainian scientists are facing today. The discussion also included the issues about the range of opportunities for the academic mobility of young scientists and perspectives on their projects and scholarship activity.
SCIENTIFIC MARATHON “Firmness during War: political, judicial, medical, psychological, economical and philological aspects” held on May 18, 2022, online, was the biggest informationally and emotionally loaded event.
The participants discussed problems relating to peculiarities of the information and cybersecurity during the war; new world order after the war; international economics and new agenda for business; legal, psychological, and medical help to population and internally dislocated people during the war; specificity of the organization of the foreign economic activity in the conditions of martial law; tax benefits during martial law; prayer protection of the Ukrainians. The Ukrainian Club also presented itself during the event.
Science Days-2022 finished on Friday, May, 20 with International Charity Conference “TOGETHER UNITED: Scientists Against War”. One of the main tasks of the event was to raise money for the support of the Military Forces of Ukraine and people suffering from the military aggression of the russian federation.
During martial law, science plays a vital role, and Ukrainian scientists continue to work persistently, directing their efforts at the reconstruction of our state, securing peace, and harmony in our society.
