At our University a new course “Academic Integrity and Research Ethics” has been piloted. It was introduced in renewed post-graduate study programs as a normative (compulsory) discipline on the initiative of the University administration following recommendations of experts from the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAQA).
The first online classes took place on the 13-14 of January 2021 on the MS TEAMS platform. Post-graduate students of all specialties and forms of study are the participants. The course is aimed at developing and improving theoretical and practical knowledge and skills regarding correct (from academic integrity and research ethics point of view) writing, publication and promotion of research works. The participants will deal with the issues of intellectual property, copyright, plagiarism, academic writing, research metrics, predatory publishers, pseudo-science etc. The course grades will be based on class participation, writing and defending a case and final electronic testing.

Lesya Ukrainka National University has launched a survey about academic integrity
In the end of 2020, our university launched series of surveys in the framework of AcademIQ project, initiated by American Councils, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and supported by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education of Ukraine.
The survey participants are bachelor students of 2 – 4 years of study and the faculty. The survey will finish in early February, 2021, and is aimed at specifying the successful university policies and spotting week points.
The survey results will be used to elaborate and introduce activities aimed at improving the culture of academic integrity.
